Expertise

What NS Web Studio does

NS Web Studio is an engineer-led web design studio based in Athens, Greece, working with service businesses across Europe and the United States. I design and build custom WordPress websites on flat-rate pricing that starts at €1,200 and is published openly on this page, with delivery in five to thirty working days depending on scope. Every build includes technical SEO, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, structured data for AI search visibility, and Core Web Vitals optimisation. The whole process runs asynchronously in writing, with no meetings to schedule. There is no hourly billing, no platform rent, and you own everything at the end.

NS Web Studio Engineered Web Design Approach

Who I work with

You’re probably in one of these three situations

Your site looks fine and does nothing

It was built three years ago, it loads slowly on a phone, and it hasn’t produced an enquiry in months. You don’t need a redesign for the sake of it. You need the page to actually ask people to get in touch.

You’re starting and you need it done properly once

You’d rather not spend six weekends fighting a page builder. You want someone to handle the whole thing, hand it over working, and show you how to update it in fifteen minutes.

You’ve been quoted €500 and €15,000 for the same brief

Nobody explained the difference, so you’ve stopped trusting the quotes. Fair enough. That’s exactly why my prices are on this page instead of behind a form.

Services

Six things I do, and nothing else

I’d rather be genuinely good at a short list than average at everything.

Website design & build

Custom design, then hand-built in WordPress. No bloated page builder, no theme you’ve seen on forty other sites.

You get: a live site, the design files, admin access, and a walkthrough video.

See what’s involved

Technical SEO

The unglamorous half of SEO: crawlability, site architecture, schema, indexation, internal linking, redirects.

You get: a clean site structure, valid structured data, and Search Console reporting properly.

See what’s involved

AI visibility (GEO & AEO)

People now ask ChatGPT and Perplexity for recommendations. That needs answer-first content and entity-level structured data, not keyword stuffing.

You get: answer blocks, entity schema, and a tracked list of prompts your business should appear in.

See it in detail — €750

Conversion copywriting

Words that name the reader’s problem before they name your company. Written by me, based on your project brief, in your voice.

You get: page-by-page copy, edited and ready to publish.

See it in detail — €450

Speed & Core Web Vitals

Image strategy, font loading, render-blocking resources, caching, database weight. The full audit, then the actual fixes.

You get: before/after PageSpeed reports and a written list of what changed.

See it in detail — €600

Accessibility compliance

The European Accessibility Act has applied since June 2025. For a lot of EU-facing businesses this stopped being optional.

You get: a WCAG 2.1 AA audit, the remediation work, and a written statement for your site.

See it in detail — €900

Proof

I’d rather show you how a site works under the hood than just give you a screenshot. Here are the latest results.

All prices in EUR, excluding VAT. EU business clients with a valid VAT number are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism (Art. 44, EU VAT Directive). Clients outside the EU are not charged EU VAT. Greek clients and EU private individuals are charged 24% Greek VAT. Payment is 50% to start, 50% on launch.

About those timelines. They’re in working days, and they start the day after your deposit clears and your content is in my hands, whichever happens later. If content arrives in pieces, the clock pauses until it’s complete. I’ll send you an exact list of what I need before you pay anything, so there are no surprises on either side.

A quick, honest note on price. These numbers usually land below what a US or UK business expects an agency-grade build to cost. I’d rather you ask why than wonder quietly: there’s no office, no account managers, no subcontractors passing work down a chain — one engineer, a maximum of three projects at a time, priced by what the work actually involves rather than by what the market will bear. Nothing here asks you to take that on faith either — the case studies show real, checkable numbers, and the rules I don’t bend are published, not a sales pitch.

Add-ons

Two kinds, kept separate on purpose

Anything above the line is a project with an end date. Anything below the line runs every month until you tell me to stop.

How we work

Everything in writing. No meetings to schedule.

This isn’t me avoiding you. It’s the part of the process most studios get wrong, and fixing it is why the timelines above are as short as they are.

A shared project board

One place with the scope, the deadlines, what I’m waiting on and what you’re waiting on. No hunting through an email thread from three weeks ago.

Annotated design previews

You get a link, you click the bit you don’t like, you type what’s wrong. No describing a button out loud while both of us look at different screens.

Written updates every few days

Short, specific, no status-report theatre. What got done, what’s next, anything I need from you. You always know where the project stands.

A reply within one business day

Every message, every time. Not “sometime this week”. If something’s urgent, say so in the subject line and it jumps the queue.

Why it works better than a call. Anything agreed out loud gets half-remembered. Anything written down can be checked. Studies of failed projects keep landing on the same culprit — requirements that were never captured properly — and writing them down is the cheapest fix there is. It also means you’re not giving up an hour of your day, at a time that suits my calendar, for something four paragraphs would have settled.

Process

How a project actually runs

You’ll know what’s happening, what’s next, and what it costs, from the first project brief to the day it goes live.

  1. 01

    You send the brief

A structured form, about ten minutes. What the business does, who you’re trying to reach, what you want the site to do, and anything you already have. It asks the questions I’d otherwise have to chase you for over three emails.

  2. 02

I send a written proposal, within 24 hours

Scope, deliverables, the fixed price, and dated milestones. One page, plain English, nothing buried. If I think a cheaper option would serve you better, that’s in there too. Nothing starts until you’ve signed it and paid the 50% deposit.

  3. 03

I design the homepage, and stop

One page, fully designed, sent as an annotated preview you can comment on directly. We settle the direction there before I build anything else. Two revision rounds are included and most projects use one.

  4. 04

I build it, and you watch

Hand-coded, tested on real devices, checked for accessibility and speed as I go instead of at the end. You get a staging link from day one and a written update every few days, so you’re never wondering where things are.

  5. 05

    Launch and handover

Final 50% is due, the site goes live, and you get admin access, a written guide to updating it yourself, and 30 days to report anything that isn’t working. Every file, every account, every password. It’s yours.

Nikol Salpisti, Electrical Engineer and Founder of NS Web Studio in Athens, specializing in premium web design and technical SEO.

About

I’m Nikol Salpisti, and I build every site myself

My background is in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. That’s an unusual background for someone doing web design, and it’s the whole reason I work the way I do. I was taught to measure things, test them, and then improve them based on what the measurement said. I don’t design a page and hope.

NS Web Studio is small on purpose. The person who answers your message is the person writing your code. Nothing gets handed to a junior, because there isn’t one. Three projects at a time, no more. Logos and brand identity are handled by our brand designer, who has a fine arts degree and a master’s in graphic design, because a wordmark deserves someone who trained for it.

Things I don’t do, so you know before you ask:

  • Social media management
  • Paid ads and Google Ads campaigns
  • Rescuing a site somebody else is still working on
  • SEO for a site I didn’t build and can’t restructure

Clients are spread across the EU and North America. Everything runs in writing, which means time zones stop mattering: you write when it suits you, I reply within one business day, and every decision we make is on record instead of half-remembered from a Tuesday.

Questions

The things people ask before they hire me

How much does a website cost?

At NS Web Studio a small business website costs €1,200 for a one-page site, €3,200 for a six-page business site, €5,400 for a twelve-page site with full SEO and AI visibility work, and €6,800 for a WooCommerce store with up to 100 products. These are fixed prices, not estimates. Across the wider market in 2026, a professionally built small business website typically runs between €2,000 and €10,000 with an experienced freelancer, and €8,000 and upwards with an agency.

How long does it take to build a website?

Five to seven working days for a one-page site, eight to twelve for a six-page business site, twelve to eighteen for a twelve-page site, and twenty to thirty for an online store. That’s faster than most studios quote, and it’s not a shortcut: it’s what happens when one person builds the whole thing and nobody is waiting on a handover. The clock starts once your deposit clears and your content is with me. Delays almost never come from the build. They come from waiting on text and photos, which is why I send you an exact list of what I need before you pay anything.

Are there hidden costs?

No. The package price covers design, build, copywriting, technical SEO, accessibility, and your domain, hosting and SSL for the first year. After year one you pay for domain and hosting renewal, which runs roughly €120 to €250 a year depending on your traffic. If your project needs a paid commercial plugin, I tell you the licence cost before I use it, never afterwards.

Do I own the website when it’s finished?

Completely. You own the domain, the hosting account, the design, the code and the content. There is no platform fee, no licence you have to keep renewing to me, and nothing stops you moving the site to another developer. I hand over full administrator access at launch. This is the main difference between hiring me and renting a site from a subscription web design service.

You’re in Greece and I’m not. Does that work?

Yes, and it’s how all of my international work runs. Everything happens in writing, in English, through a shared project board with annotated design previews you can comment on directly. Athens is in the EU, so you’re working with a European business under European contract and data law. You’ll get a reply within one business day, every time, and because nothing depends on catching each other live, the time difference never becomes your problem.

Why don’t you do calls?

Because written beats spoken for this kind of work, and I’d rather be honest about the trade-off than pretend otherwise. In a call, half of what gets agreed is half-remembered a week later. In writing, every decision, every price and every deadline is there to check. Research on project failure keeps landing on the same cause: requirements that were never captured properly. Writing them down fixes that. It also means you never give up an hour of your day to a meeting that could have been four paragraphs. If you’d genuinely rather talk before spending several thousand euros, I understand, and I’m probably not the right studio for you.

Will you charge me VAT?

If you’re a business in another EU country with a valid VAT number, no VAT is added to your invoice. It’s handled under the reverse-charge mechanism, which means you account for it in your own country. If you’re outside the EU, for example in the United States or the United Kingdom, EU VAT does not apply at all. Greek clients and EU private individuals are charged 24% Greek VAT.

Why WordPress instead of Webflow, Wix or Squarespace?

Because you own it. WordPress is open source, so nobody can raise your monthly rent, change the terms, or make features you rely on premium-only. It also gives me full control over the HTML and CSS, which is how a site reaches a 100 PageSpeed score. Hosted builders generate markup you can’t fully control. If you specifically want Webflow or Shopify, I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s the better fit for your case.

What does “AI visibility” actually mean?

People increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews for recommendations instead of scrolling through search results. Those systems quote a handful of sources rather than listing ten links. Getting quoted needs different work from ranking: direct answers stated in full sentences, high fact density, clean structured data, and a clearly defined business entity. That’s what the AI visibility setup covers, and it’s included in the Growth and Commerce packages.

Do I have to buy a monthly plan?

No. Every package is complete on its own and the site will work perfectly without a plan. Monthly plans exist because WordPress needs updating, backups need checking, and most business owners would rather not do it. If you have someone technical in-house, you genuinely don’t need one. I’d rather tell you that than sell you something you won’t use.

Can you fix my existing site instead of rebuilding it?

Often, yes. If the foundation is sound and the problem is speed, structure or copy, the Core Web Vitals rescue at €600 or the technical SEO audit at €650 is a far better use of your money than a rebuild. I’ll review the site from the URL you send and tell you straight. Sometimes the honest answer is that patching a site built on a broken foundation costs more than starting again, and I’ll say that too.

How do payments work?

Fifty per cent to start, fifty per cent on the day the site goes live. I invoice in euros and accept bank transfer, SEPA and card. There’s no charge for the project brief or the written proposal, and nothing is due until you’ve read the scope and agreed to it.

What if I don’t like the design?

That’s what the two revision rounds are for, and it’s why I design the homepage first and then stop. We settle the direction on one page before I build twelve. You mark up the preview directly, in your own words, whenever suits you. In practice disagreements almost never come down to taste. They come from a vague brief, which is exactly why the project form asks so much up front.

Tell me what you’re trying to build

Ten minutes with the project form and you’ll have a written proposal within a day: scope, fixed price, real dates. No charge, no pitch deck, no meeting to schedule. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll say so and point you somewhere better.
