What the Care plan is

Care is a WordPress maintenance plan from NS Web Studio, priced at a fixed €190 a month. It covers managed hosting, SSL, daily backups, WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, security and uptime monitoring, and one hour of content changes every month, with a reply guaranteed within one business day. There’s no contract: it’s billed monthly and can be cancelled any time with 30 days’ notice.

Fit check

Care is right for you if…

This sounds like your situation

  • You’d rather pay a fixed monthly fee than remember to log in and update plugins yourself
  • A site going down or getting hacked would genuinely cost you — lost enquiries, lost trust
  • You occasionally need a small text or image change and don’t want to open a code editor for it
  • You want one person who already knows the site to be the one who answers when something looks wrong

Skip it if…

  • You already have someone technical in-house running updates and backups
  • You want ongoing SEO work, not just upkeep — that’s Care + SEO
  • You want new pages or a redesign. That’s a fixed-price project, quoted on its own

Care isn’t required to keep a site working. Every NS Web Studio project is handed over complete and functional without it. This exists for the time it saves you, not because the site depends on it.

The full list

Everything in the €190

What you get

Hosting & infrastructure

  • Managed hosting monitored for uptime and performance
  • SSL certificate kept current, no expiry surprises
  • Daily backups, kept off-site and restorable

Updates

  • WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, applied after a compatibility check — not blindly auto-run the moment they’re released
  • A staging check before anything that touches core functionality goes live

Security

  • Malware scanning and firewall monitoring
  • Uptime monitoring, with alerts the moment something goes down

Support

  • One hour of content changes a month — text edits, swapping images, updating prices, adding a team member
  • Reply within one business day, every time, in writing

Not included — so nobody is surprised

  • New pages or a redesign. That’s project work, quoted separately
  • SEO work. Care keeps the site running; it doesn’t work on rankings. See Care + SEO
  • Content writing. See the Content Engine
  • Changes beyond the one hour. Billed separately, at a price you approve before I start
  • Fixing damage from someone else’s edits. If a third party breaks something, restoring it is scoped and quoted first

Security incidents are covered under monitoring regardless of the hour allowance — that’s not a “content change”, it’s the plan doing its job.

What changes

What €190 a month actually buys

0

Zero admin logins for you

You don’t get a plugin-update notification and wonder if it’s safe to click. That decision, and the work behind it, isn’t yours anymore.

24/7

Monitored, not just backed up

A backup you only discover you need after the site’s already been down for a day isn’t much use. Uptime and security are watched continuously, not checked weekly.

1hr

A small change without a developer invoice

Updating a price or swapping a photo shouldn’t need a quote and a wait. It’s already paid for, every month.

How it runs

What a typical month looks like

Most months you won’t hear from me at all, and that’s the plan working correctly.

Automatic

Updates and backups run on schedule in the background. You don’t approve each one individually — you’d be signing off on the same thing every week.

Monitored

Uptime and security checks run continuously. If something needs attention, I’m already looking at it before you’d notice anything was wrong.

On request

Send your content change whenever it comes up — no need to save them for a monthly batch. Your hour resets each billing cycle, unused time doesn’t roll over.

Quiet unless it matters

No monthly “everything’s fine!” email for the sake of one. If something genuinely needs your attention, you’ll hear from me the same day.

Optional

Things Care doesn’t cover, if you want them

Everything in Care, plus monthly technical SEO review, keyword tracking and a written report.

Worth it if: being found in search matters to the business, not just staying online.

A one-time crawl of the site with a prioritised written report and the fixes actually implemented.

Worth it if: you want a health check before deciding whether ongoing SEO is worth it.

For a site that’s slow but staying. Images, fonts, scripts and caching, with before and after reports.

Worth it if: the site predates NS Web Studio and has never been properly tuned.

The three plans

Care sits at the base. Here’s what’s above it.

Care + SEO

Everything above, plus the long-form content that makes SEO compound.

Questions

What people ask about Care

What exactly counts as “one hour of content changes”?

Text edits, swapping a photo, updating a price, adding a team member, fixing a typo, changing an opening time. Small, well-defined changes to what’s already there. It doesn’t cover designing something new or building a page from scratch — that’s project work with its own scope and price, agreed before it starts.

What happens if I need more than an hour in a month?

I’ll tell you before doing the extra work, with a price, and you decide. Nothing gets billed without your agreement first. Most months don’t come close to the hour; if yours regularly does, that’s usually a sign the site needs more frequent updates than a maintenance plan is meant to handle, and I’ll say so.

Do you fix the site if it goes down outside business hours?

Uptime monitoring runs continuously, not just during business hours, and a genuine outage or security incident gets attention as soon as I’m alerted, whatever time that is. The one-business-day reply guarantee covers routine requests and questions; it isn’t a ceiling on how fast a real incident gets handled.

Can I add Care to a site you didn’t build?

Often, yes, after a short compatibility check. I need to see how the site is built before taking on updates for it — some sites are put together in ways that make safe maintenance genuinely difficult, and I’d rather tell you that upfront than discover it during an update. Mention it in the project brief with your site’s URL and I’ll look before quoting.

What if I want to cancel?

Email me. Thirty days’ notice, no exit interview, no retention offer. You keep everything — the site was always yours. If you cancel and want to come back later, there’s no penalty for that either.

Do I still need this if I never touch the site myself?

Especially then. A site nobody logs into is a site nobody notices when a plugin update contains a security fix, and unpatched WordPress plugins are one of the most common ways small business sites get compromised. WordPress’s own security page is worth a read if you want the detail. Care exists mainly for exactly this situation: the site that works fine right up until the week it doesn’t.

Add Care when you’re ready

If you’re already a client, mention it by email and I’ll set it up. If you’re planning a new project, add it to the brief and it’ll be included in the same proposal.
